Do not allow sin a foothold in your life

I’ve been reminded this week of God’s sovereignty and His perfect plan. We may struggle, but He does not. We may strive and fight, but He does not. Our Creator spoke all things into existence by His Word. While we toil, chase after many things, and often grope in the darkness of our own understanding, we are reminded that sin lies close at hand and that we must continually turn to Him, never taking our eyes off the cross. (Isaiah 46:9–10; Genesis 1:3; Hebrews 12:2; Genesis 4:7)
If God purposes something, it will come to pass. There are no negotiations and no bargains to be struck. We are called to surrender all to Him and leave our sin at the foot of the cross. (Psalm 115:3; Daniel 4:35; Proverbs 19:21; Luke 9:23)
If you have allowed sin a foothold in your life, the way back is through repentance and faith in the Forgiver of sins. Christ did not come to save the righteous, but sinners. Had there been another way to accomplish redemption, God would have ordained it. Instead, He sent His Son. Jesus Christ is the perfect Savior, the spotless Lamb of God, who made atonement for all who come to Him in faith. (1 John 1:9; Mark 2:17; Matthew 26:39; John 3:16; 1 Peter 1:18–19; Hebrews 10:14)
